The white sage, bee sage, or sacred sage is an organic evergreen perennial shrub used in the practice of an herbal cleansing called smudging.  Smudging is the process of clearing your auric field and common dwellings by burning natural herbs.  It's believe that the practice is done to purify and remove inert energy.

Instructions:

Use a smudge dish to catch ember remnants.  Light one end of the sage stick and gently wave the stick around the intended person or area to be cleansed.  As you are moving the stick around envision the clearing as letting go of all that you want to let go of.  Once done smudging place the stick down in your fire-proof smudge dish and let it naturally burn out which it will once it is still, or if preferred snub it out immediatedly.
