Imagine my surprise when I learned that the way that I breathe is affecting my overall health, well-being, and state of mind. It took me 30 minutes to change my breathing which instantly alleviated nuances I’d been experiences in my body for years.
As a person that is very in tune with their body, how it’s feeling and what it’s doing on a moment-to-moment basis, you feel every sensation normal and otherwise. While the body may seem very fragile, it is extremely agile. The agility of our bodies almost always determines our mood. It feels good to feel good.
Breathing is a physical process that we do not pay much attention to unless we are having difficulty doing it. Inadequate breathing will diminish the amount of air that reaches critical components in our body like organs, tissue, and muscles and without sufficient oxygen cells will slowly start to deteriorate.
When we focus on things intently, we have a tendency to stop breathing for very short periods of time, so short that we barely notice. If you recognize this pattern of behavior, make a mental note to pay more attention to your breathing and do more breathing exercises. Even when you do both from time to time you may catch yourself not breathing properly. This sporadic breathing pattern has a name, Email Apnea.
Email apnea is when you stop breathing as you focus intently on your email. Reading email is what the article focuses on, but it can also happen while doing anything else in which we are heavily concentrating. Don't feel alarmed there is an easy and quick fix to Email Apnea. When you notice you are intently focused on something train your brain to focus on your breathing at the same time. Make sure to take a few deep breaths. In addition, set aside a tiny portion of my day just to do breathing exercises to ensure you are getting the necessary oxygen wherever it’s needed in your body.
